These Terms govern your access to and use of My Local Loop. By creating an account, becoming a member or partner, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1.About these Terms
My Local Loop (“MLL”, “we”, “us”) operates a membership platform that connects people who shop local (“members”) with independent businesses (“partners”) offering exclusive deals. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and My Local Loop Inc.
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the service. We may update these Terms from time to time as described in Section 11.
2.Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- My Local Loop is currently offered as a closed beta in and around Kamloops, British Columbia. Access may be limited and is granted at our discretion.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when you sign up and to keep it up to date.
3.Membership & accounts
Your account
You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Membership fees & billing
A paid membership costs $9.99 CAD/month, billed in advance through our third-party payment processor. Prices are in Canadian dollars and may change with reasonable notice. Applicable taxes may be added.
Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel at any time; your membership remains active until the end of the current billing period and does not renew thereafter. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
4.Using the service
Member QR codes & redemptions
Each member is issued a personal code used to redeem offers in-store. Your code is for your personal use only and may not be shared, sold, or transferred. We may refuse or reverse a redemption that appears fraudulent or that violates these Terms.
Deals & offers
- Deals are provided by partners and are exclusive to My Local Loop members.
- Offers may have conditions, limits, or expiry dates, and may be changed or withdrawn by the partner at any time.
- Any savings figures shown on the site are illustrative estimates, not guarantees of the amount any individual will save.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with its operation, scraping data, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
5.Partner terms
If you join as a partner, you additionally agree that:
- You will honour the offers you publish for valid member redemptions during their stated availability.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the offers and content you provide.
- You will treat member information you receive in connection with a redemption confidentially and only for completing that redemption.
6.Intellectual property
The service, including its branding, design, and software, is owned by My Local Loop Inc. and its licensors and is protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose. Partner names and marks remain the property of their respective owners.
7.Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular deal will be available.
8.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Local Loop Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits or savings, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9.Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
10.Changes to the service
Because My Local Loop is in active development, features may be added, changed, or removed over time. We will try to communicate significant changes, but we are not obligated to maintain any particular feature.
11.Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where reasonable. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts located in British Columbia will have jurisdiction over any disputes.
